Weando AB

Indie game development with heart and hands-on code

About

Jonas - Lead Developer at Weando AB

Hi, I’m Jonas, the developer behind Weando AB - a small indie studio where I blend my passion for programming and gaming. With over two decades of experience in system development, I now channel that experience into game creation in my spare time.

I love building things from the ground up - especially when it mixes creativity with code. Weando is my playground for that.

Current Projects

Adventure Colossal Cave - Explorer Edition

I’m currently working on a remake of the classic text adventure Adventure - Colossal Cave for modern mobile devices. My journey with this game began in my early teens, sneaking into university computer rooms to play it on a PDP-11, where every session was an exciting exploration of its mysterious cave and intriguing puzzles.

Over the years, I’ve returned to the game many times and I’m still fascinated by it. As a developer, I’m impressed by how much logic and creativity the original creators managed to fit into the game back in the late '70s. At the same time, I’ve come to see that the game’s complexity, although impressive, can feel a bit too much for modern players.

This remake preserves the design of the original while introducing modern features that make it more accessible and enjoyable for today's players. Key features include:

  • Interactive 3D map
  • Intuitive touchscreen controls
  • Dynamic minimap
  • Enhanced explorer mode with new commands
  • And more...

Colossal Cave Adventure - Radial Map & Pathfinding Tool

I created a radial map and pathfinding tool, which visualizes the cave's locations and plan paths through it.

Key features of the tool include:

  • Visual radial map of the cave
  • Pathfinding algorithms to find optimal routes
  • Interactive exploration of cave connections
